Shy Nobleman is one of Israel’s most well known and acclaimed Indie
Rock singer. With some top ten national hit singles and international
critically acclaimed albums behind him.

What we now regard as Nobleman’s true sound took shape, when at the
age of 20 he moved to the heart and soul of indie music, London. After two
years, Shy had become a regular on the vibrant mod-garage scene, gigging at
all the major clubs and pubs that London is famed for.

His first go at putting his music to tape was the single, ‘Sad Song Happy
Song’, which was produced by Liam Watson (The White Stripes) . It
immediately became ‘pick of the week’ in Britain’s ultimate music weekly,
Melody Maker.

In 2001, Nobleman returned home to Israel in order to write and produce his
landmark debut record ‘How To Be Shy’.
Shy invited members of the local psychedelic band, Rockfour, to record
what became an overnight national success.

Nobleman’s 60’s like psychedelic pop tunes captured the mood of the
country and soon the album was voted “record of the year”.

By word of mouth alone, the album was picked up by music critics in across
the USA, with none other than Rolling Stone Magazine announcing it
as ‘one of the top 10 albums of the year in 2002’. Shy joined the ranks of
indie rockers The Hives and The Soundtrack of our lives as Alternative
Press Magazine’s ‘Top 25 International Acts that Can Take Over
America’.

A national coast to coast DIY blitz ensued. Shy hopped the plane to NYC
and spent the following months gigging from club to club, city to city
including NYC staples, like CBGB’s and The Knitting Factory as well as
every other hole from Manhattan to the great Mississippi River.

Not only was Shy’s extraordinary musical talents recognized, but his
outlandish personality led him to being offered his own nationally

syndicated TV show: “Top of the pops”. Soon after he got himself a job as a
host of a weekly satirical sports television and internet show.

Recently, Nobleman released his second full length offering ‘Beautiful
Life’. The musicians on the album included some of Israel’s leading indie
rock names : Geva Alon, Yotam Ben- Horin (Useless ID), and members of
the Balkan Beat Box and The Monotonix.

“Beautiful Life” was more power pop and had a harder sound than
Nobleman’s debut album..
Three singles, ‘Girlfriend”, ‘Baby in The Rain’ and ‘Wonderful’ topped the
national charts.

His impressive popularity led to him being invited to open for world
renowned acts Echo & The Bunnymen and Of Montreal. Even Gruff
Rhys, lead singer of Super Furry Animals is a fan.
